Benefit of Zinc For Hair Growth

Zinc is one of the most important trace minerals found in the body. Many bodily processes and functions require zinc in various forms. A few bodily processes include cell reproduction, hormonal balance, absorption of vitamins, and protein synthesis. These bodily processes are necessary for hair growth.

An insufficient amount of zinc results in loss of hair and hair with poor appearance, which looks very thin and dull. A portion of your body’s total zinc is held in the hair follicles. Because zinc is being used in other areas of the body like for eyesight, memory, digestion, smell and taste, f there is a zinc deficiency, the body removes zinc from hair follicles first to ensure zinc is available for more important biological processes.

If you are experiencing hair loss, the following foods are high in zinc:

Dark chocolate
Roast beef
Peanuts
Eggs
Herring
Wheat germ
Oysters
Sesame seeds
Pumpkin seeds
