Product Review: Design Essentials Natural Almond & Avocado Detangling Leave-In Conditioner

Leave-in conditioner is a staple in every hair care brand’s arsenal, which is why I’ve been obsessed with finding the perfect one. They all claim to repair breakage and split ends, while protecting the hair, but sadly, most times it’s a pie in the sky. Most leave-ins temporarily do the job, but very rarely do they penetrate deep into the hair for lasting strength. Even more frustrating is always having to use it in conjunction with another conditioner. Which mean more money and time spent getting my hair to perfection. Argh!

That was the sad case until I tried Design Essentials Natural Almond & Avocado Detangling Leave-In Conditioner. The rich, creamy formula left my very dry, 4C hair soft and manageable—a task that seems to get harder and harder as my coarse hair gets longer and longer. I’m also mother of a beautiful baby girl, who also has thick hair. I try to keep her hair moisturized daily, but the Natural Almond & Avocado Detangling Leave-In Conditioner allowed me to comb through her coils with ease.

Tea tree, leaf, avocado, jojoba seed are just some of the product’s oils that make it a standout that’s high above the rest. This team of oils seriously works magic on my tresses. But, best of all, the leave-in smells like candy reminiscent of my childhood, and it mixes well with my curl definer/stylers, which means I can combine it with my other hair care favorites.

Aside from applying after shampooing, this conditioner is best when used daily to keep your ends manageable and hydrated. And for damage already done (read: brittle ends from too much heat. Yes, I’m guilty of it!), this ultra-affordable solution doesn’t disappoint. Apply for two weeks on a regular basis and I promise it will leave you feeling brand new.

My only issue: the bottle runs out too fast! Which, when it comes to leave-ins, is a great problem to have. Enjoy!
